Oh hey. I’m Lydia.
My photography obsession started when my grandma gave me my first film camera for my 9th birthday. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked. I took photos of EVERYTHING, from my friends to the typical “artsy trees and grass” to dressing up my goats in party hats for photoshoots. As a junior in high school, I bought my first “real” camera and started taking photos of families, seniors, local sports, as well as my very first wedding.
Fun fact: my first “real, paying client” is now my husband; I took his senior pictures.
Throughout college, I began shooting more and more, and my passion for capturing engagements and weddings really developed from a hobby into a career. After graduating with my BFA in Graphic Design, I realized that although I enjoyed design, there was something very special about working with people and capturing their stories, and I knew that photography was the route I wanted to continue to pursue.
I consider myself extremely privileged to share such important events with my clients. I believe in doing crazy things for the sake of gorgeous photos – let’s climb that mountain, stand in that lake, or book some cheap flights just for a killer engagement session location. I want to tell YOUR story, and I want YOUR photos to be unique. After all, these are the moments you’ll want to re-live for the rest of your life! Your shoot will be relaxed, interactive, and you might even forget you’re in front of the camera. I want you to feel natural, beautiful, and to have FUN!
Today, I live central North Dakota with my wonderful husband, Norman, and our two daughters, Blake and Logan. I drink a lot of coffee, love quilting, and am trying my best to be somewhat good at baking. In other words, I probably have a lot in common with your grandma. My non-elderly hobbies include hiking, watching The Office, playing on a summer softball team, eating Chick-fil-a, and of course, traveling.
